Internet Work At Home

What?

Did you read that right?

The stress from "working at home"?

Let Me Guess

Stress from work you can understand, but stress from working at home might have you scratching your head. Is that not what everyone wants? To not have to fight traffic? To have your office just down the hall from your bedroom?

The truth is, it can be very stressful working at home, especially if you are just starting a business of your own and money is tighter than a Chinese finger torture device. The work at home hours can make the work on the job hours seem like a vacation, at times.

Do Family And Friends Just Not Get It...Yet?

Plus, family and friends might not "get" that you are working and that you can't be interrupted with their minute to minute occurrences. After all, people tend to be able to relate mainly to their own experience, and they know you are home and to them home isn't a job.

Being Alone Can Take Getting Used To

Some stress might come from the fact that you are alone and don't have the camaraderie of the one or two compatriots who resonate to a similar vibration as you, that you always seemed to find at every job you ever had. And the requirement of having to do everything yourself can be a major source of stress as well.

What To Do? How To Cope?

First off, you don't have to do everything yourself. You can outsource a lot of your tasks on websites like elance.com where people get in a bidding war to see how LOW they can go. You can get bargain prices while freeing up a lot of your time, so definitely look into outsourcing.

(The passage of time might help with the solitude issue.)

Have That Deal With Your Interrupters

You need to firmly communicate to your family or friends who aren't taking your situation seriously, that you are working, and just like it would be inappropriate for them to stop into your cubicle at an accounting firm and shoot the breeze any time the spirit moved, they can't just drop in and expect your attention.

Be firm and unequivocal.

You Are The Boss - Act Like It

Take advantage of the fact that you set your schedule. Even if you must work a lot of hours at this point, take breaks. Go for a walk. Meditate. You are large and in charge, now. You can do it, You deserve it. Call your friends who were interrupting you before, and shoot the breeze with them on your terms.

This One Is A Biggie

This is stress tips is a huge one, so don't gloss over it:

Whatever you do, don't bite off more than you can chew. Rather than promise jobs will be ready when you know in your heart they may not be, quote them a later time. That way you may actually be early and this will help your reputation, especially compared to if you deliver something late because you over promised.

Is Your Stress From Not Making Enough Money?

Something that helped me more than I can describe in my work at home situation as an affiliate marketer, is that I crossed paths with Chris Farrell as well as Pot Pie Girl (Jennifer Ledbetter.) Together, they shortened my learning curve, literally, by years, and now I know from experience that virtually ANYONE can learn to make a very decent living on the Internet. -- And they can do it with very low overhead, and even no overhead, if they so choose (other than Internet access, of course.)

Trust me, if this technophobe can do it, ANYONE can! You just need the right mentors, and these are two of the best out there.

Chris Farrell teaches the number one way people make money with the internet: List Building. He specializes in teaching complete newbies and utter technophobes.how to build simple one page websites as vehicles to building a large list of leads who will buy from them when they recommend something, since they have established a relationship of trust and affinity.

Pot Pie Girl teaches affiliate marketing by way of posting articles on the internet. Her method doesn't even require the simple one page website that Chris Farrell recommends.
