Mumbai not to host Test against New Zealand
The Mumbai Cricket Association, which was to host the third and final India-New Zealand Test in November, has backed out of hosting it citing the ongoing renovation work at the Wankhede Stadium.
"The MCA managing committee took the decision on Sunday that we won't be in a position to host it at the Wankhede Stadium in November as we would like to play a few
fist-class matches (on the newly laid wicket) before the World Cup. We would write a letter to the Board tomorrow," MCA joint secretary Lalchand Rajput told PTI on Saturday.
"We would ask the BCCI to consider our case for the next series," the former India opener added. Mumbai was to host the third and last Test between November 20 and 24. The first two Tests are to be held at Ahmedabad (November 4-8) and Kanpur (November 12-16).
