
The glamazon is saying that the only reason she kept to the catwalk for so many years was because she felt black woman were so under-represented--and now that Jourdan Dunn, Chanel Iman and a few others have become major modeling successes, she sees no reason to stick around.
The fashion industry still has its numero uno champion for diversity causes, Tyra Banks (bless her for being the imaginary love child of Jerry Springer and Martin Luther King, Jr.), but what would the retirement of a barrier-breaking model like Campbell mean for the industry? We can only hope the infamous cell phone hurler stays in the limelight in other ways...
