B.Sc in hospitality and Catering technology
Hospitality and catering technology might sound two different spheres but in actual are very much correlated. Hospitality includes the behavior towards people and treating them well, whereas the catering technology relates to the science of organizing the eating program of a huge mass. However where Catering technology will be involved, Hospitality to the guest will also be required. Understanding this relation, many colleges offer the course that teaches both these subjects together. B.Sc in hospitality and catering Technology is one of those courses.
Under these courses, one is taught the various ways to host and treat the guest with a gentle and kind behavior. Along with that it also teaches the ways and methods of Catering technology. The ways to arrange the eating system and making the guests comfortable is taught in this course. All in all this courses suits best for the ones who are related to the functions and programs.
One needs to be at least 10 + 2 passed in order to get them in to the course of B.Sc in hospitality and catering Technology. The 10 + 2 passing certificate should be from a well recognized educational board of India.
Course outlook:
The course duration of this course is generally 3 year. These 3 years are divided in to 3 parts of 1 year each. After every one year an examination is held to decide promotions of the students to the next year.
Job Prospects:

Tourism Management Entrance Exam Pattern
The exam paper will have a time period of 2 hours. The test will comprise of questions from topics such as:
Aptitude
Current Affairs
General English
General Knowledge
Numerical Ability
The questions will be of the objective type. Each correct answer provided by the student will be awarded 1 mark and erroneous responses will entail deduction of 1/4 marks.

There are no sub-parts or sub-division of the paper. There are different questions arranged in simple order.
Paper pattern:
The paper carries a maximum of ten questions, out of which candidates have to answer any five. The entire Questions, excepting the fifth question, are Long answer based questions. The fifth question is divided into three sub-parts, and candidates have to attempt any two. They have to be answered in about three hundred words each. The three sub-questions are short answers based question. The remaining questions have to be answered in about six hundred words each. Questions have to be answered in candidates’ own words as far as practical. All of the questions have to be answered in English Language.
Markings:
The total mark of the paper is one hundred and each of the questions is of twenty marks. The sub-question of the fifth question is about ten marks.
Time allotted for the examination:
The time offered in the paper is of three hours.

It is a 75 mark paper with two parts, Part A of 15 marks and Part B of 60 marks. Both the sections allow the student to choose questions which they are more comfortable with. Part A has five questions out of which the student has to answer 3 whereas Part B has seven questions out of which only 4 have to be answered.
Marking Scheme and Paper Pattern:
Part A questions carry five marks each and hence in these questions one has to be very precise in comparison to the Part B questions which are of 15 marks. These Part B questions require the student to do a more detailed analysis of the question asked and answer accordingly. Generally the Part B questions are a lot more explanation based when compared to the Part A ones.
