Department of Science and Technology, Haryana - Promotion of Science Education (POSE) Scholarship scheme

In order to attract meritorious students in science stream, the Deptt of Science and Technology, govt of Haryana has introduced POSE and invites applications from students who have been enrolled in the M.Sc (previous) and B.Sc Honours-1st year in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Geology in the university/colleges of Haryana during 2010-11.

The applications should be made in the application format which can be downloaded from the website of the Deptt and must be submitted to their head of institution/department. Therefore, the concerned institution/department will forward the same to the registrar office of the university concerned and after that the university will forward all the applications to this office. No direct applications will be entertained.

Amount: the amount of scholarship will be for M.Sc students Rs 6000/- per month plus contingency stipend of Rs 5000/- once in a year; for B.Sc Honours students Rs 4000/- per month plus contingency stipend of Rs 4000/- once in a year.

Eligibility: The students who have obtained minimum 60% marks in the previous class (i.e. B.Sc three years course) for M.Sc students and 10+2 for B.Sc Honours students are eligible to apply. Further, the subject wise merit list of the candidates for award of scholarship will be prepared as per the criterion laid down in this regard.

Anna University Chennai Anna Centenary Research Fellowships 2011

Anna University is proudly launching research fellowships in the name of our beloved leader Dr CN Annadurai as Anna Centenary Research Fellowships in order to further intensify research in thrust areas and to carve a niche in the national and international arena About 45 research fellowships will be awarded to full time research scholars every year admitted to Ph.D programme on merit basis from January 2011 session onwards.

Each fellowship will carry a monthly stipend of Rs 12,000/- and annual contingency grant of Rs 25,000/-

These research fellowships will be awarded for a maximum period of three years or still the submission of Thesis whichever is earlier. Candidates who are interested to pursue full-time research in various disciplines of engineering, technology, architecture and planning, science and humanities and management sciences in Anna university for availing these fellowships need to apply in a separate application form prescribed in the website www.annauniv.edu/research along with necessary enclosures. Those scholars who have already registered for Ph.D programme in Anna University can also apply for this fellowship. Academic Requirements: Students who have secured not less than 80% in maths and science subjects in their 10th and 12th or equivalent examinations and not less than first class in graduation and post graduation.

Only students presently studying in 1 & II year of B.Sc I, II, & III year of B.E / B.Tech / B.V.Sc / B.Pharma, I year of M.Sc and I-IV year of integrated M.Sc with the above mentioned academic requirements should apply.

The students selected under this programme are placed with scientists at the centre or elsewhere in India, for 2 months with a stipend Rs.6000 p.m and travel support as per Govt of India norms.

NACIL invites Applications For Type Rated Captains Positions In Mumbai 2010
Applications are invited for the following posts:

1. Type Rated Captains-Posts-40
Pay Scale: Rs. 3,50,000/- p.m.
Age Limit: Max 56 Years
Qualification & Experience:
Candidates must possess following Technical Qualifications at the time of Application:
i. Current and valid ALTP Licence issued by Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India.
ii) Current and Valid B777 Endorsement on Indian ALTP
iii) Current and valid Instrument Rating Endorsement on B777 on Indian ALTP
iv) Current and valid FRTO Licence issued by Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India.
v) Current and valid RTR(P)/RTR(C)/RTR Licence issued by Ministry of Communication, WPC Wing, Govt. of India. Minimum of 2000 hours of Airline Jet experience of which at least 500 hrs. should be as PIC on B777 aircraft.
2. Type Rated First Officers-Posts-40
Pay Scale: Rs. 1,50,000/- p.m.
Qualification & Experience:
Candidates must possess following Technical Qualifications at the time of Application:
i. Current and valid CPL/ ALTP issued by Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India. (Note: Preference will be given to candidates having ALTP)
ii) Current and Valid B777 Endorsement on Indian CPL/ALTP
iii) Current and valid Instrument Rating Endorsement on B777 on Indian CPL/ALTP
iv) Current and valid FRTO Licence issued by Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India.
v) Current and valid RTR (P)/RTR (C)/RTR Licence issued by Ministry of Communication, WPC Wing, Govt. of India. Minimum of 500 hours of Airline Jet experience of which minimum 150 hours should be First Officers on B777 aircraft.

Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates having more than 1000 hrs Airline Jet Experience.

Selection:

* Eligible candidates will be required to appear for Personal Interviews and Simulator Flight Proficiency Test (SFPT) all at Mumbai at their own expenses.
* Only those candidates short-listed after personal interview will be required to undergo SFPT.

Indian Air Force (IAF) invites applications from unmarried male candidates for selection test in February 2011 to join as Airman in Group 'X' (Technical) Trades.

Qualification: Candidates should have passed Intermediate/10+2/with pass marks in Mathematics and Physics with a minimum of 50% marks in overall aggregate. OR Three years Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile / Computer science / Instrumentation Technology) from a Government recognised Polytechnic / Institute with at least 50% marks.

Age: 17 to 22 Years. Born between 01 April 1990 and 31 May 1994 (both date inclusive),
Medical Standards : Height :Minimum acceptable height : 152.5 cm, Chest : Minimum range of expansion : 5 cm, Vision : 6/36 each eye., Correctable with spectacles : at least 6/9 each eye., Diopteric power : not exceeding +3.5, Pay : Rs. 5700/- stipend per month during training period

Training: Initial Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) will be provided at Airmen Training School, Belgaum (Karnataka) for 12 weeks. After it Trade Training will be provided.
Selection Procedure: Written Test: Test will be held during February 2011. Physical Fitness Test (PFT): those who pass written test will undertake Physical Fitness Test. It consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 8 min.,
Interview: Those who pass both the written and PFT will be called for interview.

How to Apply: candidate must indicate three choices of the examination centre in order of preference. Application form which is predefined should be typed on A4 size paper only. National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2011 ::.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the NDA and Naval Academy Examination, 2011 on 17th April, 2011 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wing of the NDA for the 127th Course and 89th Naval Academy Course commencing from December 30th 2011.

Eligibility:
Age: 16 and half to 19 years i.e. born between 02/01/1993 and 01/07/1995
Educational Qualification:

* for Army : 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
* For Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy : 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University with Physics and Mathematics subjects
* Candidates who are appearing in the 12th exam can also apply.
* Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in notice.
